Older brother of the famous painter Insho Domoto, Shikken Domoto was born in Kyoto and was instructed in the lacquer technique by Koshitsu Tomita. in his field he was the most important exponent in the area: kyoto-osaka-kobe, he participated in numerous exhibitions such as teiten, shin bunten and nitten.
