Tsuji Kako born in Kyoto studied painting with Kono Bairei in 1880.

recognized as a very talented painter among the painters of the Kyoto area.

he has participated in the bunten since the beginning in 1907.

In 1926 he was appointed director of the Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts.

Tsuji Kako’s paintings are in the collections of the Kyoto Museum of Modern Art, the Seattle Museum of Modern Art, and the Philadelphia Museum.
